Introduction
Blended Internet Protocol also known as Blended IP, provides direct internet access for all your production level traffic. In a colocation data center environment "blended" refers to the use of multiple internet service providers (ISPs) to deliver a combined (or “blended”) internet service. This blend combines multiple Tier 1 internet service providers to ensure redundancy, load balancing, and better overall network performance. CoreSite also incorporates multiple internet exchanges including CoreSite's Any2Exchange® to deliver high availability and lower latency by optimizing routing.
Coresite's Blended IP also supports various protocols, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), with static and direct routing over single or dual port connections to help ensure High Availability (HA) for production environments.
