Data Center Security

Updated by CoreSite

We maintain the highest level of physical security with security-trained personnel who are on-site 24x7x365. Security personnel are trained in best-in-class processes and procedures and cutting-edge technology, all of which establish a platform that enables our customers to meet their information security objectives. We test our security systems and protocols regularly to ensure exceptional response rates, and each year we participate in compliance validation programs such as ISO 27001, SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, NIST 800-53, HIPAA and PCI DSS in order to firmly represent our commitment to – and maintenance of – secure, reliable data center facilities.

Data Center Physical Security and Technology

In addition to our security-trained personnel, CoreSite data centers are protected by a gamut of technological security measures.

  • IP-DVR cameras & perimeter fencing
    • CoreSite facilities are secured by 8’ perimeter fencing as well as 360-degree view IP-DVR cameras.
  • Biometric scanners & card readers
    • All main entrances and many additional locations throughout our data centers require the use of a personalized security badge and biometric scanner.
  • Mantrap entries
    • Most facilities employ mantrap or double mantrap entries in order to strictly maintain the flow of people through the entry points at our data centers.
  • Locking cages & cabinets
    • At a minimum, cages and cabinets are key locked and monitored by video.  Customers also can opt to add card readers and biometric scanners to their deployment.
